Hello lovelies, last week I braved the train on my own with two kids in tow on the way to Birmingham. Some may say that's a doddle and others may quince at the thought, alas it was actually really good! We go to Birmingham quite a lot as a family with that be me, the kids and Dan or me, the kids and Nanny Jayne!
Since Nanny Jayne very kindly bought us all Premium Merlin Anual passes we have been making the most out of them and visiting the Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham quite a bit and I thought we've been to quite a few places in Birmingham so why not share with you all a post on where to take kids in Birmingham and within calibration with Birmingham Airport Hotel . I thought I would share with you what we did in Birmingham on that day too.
So we planned on going to the Legoland Discovery Centre but beforehand we had a little tour around Birmingham, the spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own. We got off the train and headed straight to the Kitty Cafe which is situated right above the train station, it was fully booked and before entering you have to pay £6 for an adult and £4 per child so it would have cost me £14 without drinks and food before even entering! I get that the money goes to the cats but just be aware of that before you planned on visiting and book in advance.
We then went into Tiger, my favourite shop for random bits and pieces! Then of into the Bullring my favourite shopping centre that has something for everyone. I got myself a new Disney mug, Lion King to be precise then the kids went crazy in The Entertainer. All that shopping made us hungry so as the kids love burgers and milkshakes I thought why not treat them to a Five Guys! £41 later I instantly regretted it, half-eaten burgers and £5 a pop a milkshake it was pretty hefty, although their milkshakes are the best ones I've ever had probably not best to take the kids again until they instal a child's menu! Then we headed off to the Legoland Discovery centre where we had a great few hours having fun before we got the train back home.
Where to go with the kids in Birmingham?
For a freebie thing to do in Birmingham, you have the gorgeous Museum and Art gallery, the Cathedrals, parks and the Library. The library is absolutely stunning pictured above and outside the library, they have water fountains the kids can run through so if you plan on going on a hot day make sure to take a towel and spare clothes!
