Mummy Monday | Family time at Wolsley Garden

Hello lovelies, last Monday Dan had a whole week of so we had a lot of family time, we enjoyed a nice little walk around Wolsley gardens and had a little picnic really enjoying the beautiful views. It is a 2 minute car ride from where we live so we could walk it too, but Dan's pretty lazy when it comes to walking aha. We had such a lovely day with no phones, laptops etc apart from me taking the pictures on my phone of-course but you know what I mean. Sometimes it's just nice to step away from technology and appreciate the out doors with the people you love, I think our generation is being taken over by technology and were dismissing the beautiful outdoors, just leave your phone at home one day and do something out of the ordinary, you will be surprised and probably enjoy yourself more, I am terrible for being stuck to my phone and not going a day without checking my twitter feed but at least once a week I am going exploring in the outside world and making the most of it all with the two favorite men in my life. Hope you liked my picture heavy post and I'd love to know the places you love visiting as we are up for trying somewhere new!

Lancome Event 26.06.14

Hello lovelies, on the 26th of June I was very lucky to be invited by the lovely and beautiful Vanessa from Theothervw to a Lancome event who also invited Amy who blogs over at A little boat sailing and Aimee who blogs over at Aimee loves the same girls who attended a blogging event me and Jess arranged not long ago and three girls I have already fell in love with and want to be friends with for life, the most beautiful, down to earth friendliest girls you would ever wish to meet who have me smiling and giggling away but can cost you a lot of money, especially in Selfridges! But back to the event, we arrived in Selfridges to be greeted by a lovely lady named Lydia who presented us with snacks and bucks fizz and let us have a quick glance around and take some snaps before she told us a lot about a brand I was very new to.

After we took a few photos and snacked and drank Lydia sat us all down and asked for a guinea pig, obviously I shot my hand up and was made to sit in the hot seat, only to agree with stripping my face off infront of all the girls! They were far too kind and complimented me on my awful bare face, but I had the most amazing facial pretty much having Lancome skin care all over prepping my skin before a gorgeous make-over by a very talented Lydia! My most favorite product had to be Genifique for face and the eyes and you notice a difference in your skin straight away, I was so impressed. After my skin felt amazing Lydia gave me a beautiful make over using the Le correcteur pro concealer palette which you could get away with using all over for a sheer coverage and a 'non make-up' day then put Teint idole ultra 24 hour long lasting foundation all over which felt like silk, although I am one for a heavy coverage this is medium to full and I actually felt quite confident with it on and it felt like I had nothing on, it is so light weight yet covers imperfections and nasty blemishes. I can't remember everything Lydia used but I do remember the gorgeous eye shadows which of-course I had to purchase afterwards! Colour design infinite 24h crease-free luminous eye shadows in shades gold and taupe, two stunning shades that worked magnificently together and complimented my green eyes I thought, I also adored the brown gel eyeliner Lydia applied as I am usually just a liquid eye liner fiend but I think she may have converted  me and to Lancome alone! Whilst Lydia was giving me the make-over she was explaining in great detail to me and the girls about every single product she applied to my face and a bit about there best sellers and more I just wanted one of everything.

After we all had a very informative talk about Lancome as a whole and a lot of the products they produce we all had a mooch around and got our purses out! I absolutely fell in love with the lip gloss Lydia applied and was so surprised as I am not a huge lip gloss lover but it keeps your lips moisturised for over 8 hours, it is super pigmented and the shade was just gorgeous and works great when your going a bit bold on the eye make-up. Also I had to get the taupe eye shadow as I thought I would get more wear out of that shade and could wear it alone or with another shade similar for a smokey eye. A bonus also with the products we did purchase we got free swarvoski crystals on the packaging, what more could a girl want? Plus if we did buy two purchases from Lancome we got a free goody bag which was full of fab products! I will go into more detail about the purchases I did get at the event though in a separate post and show you what I got in my goody bag so look out for that post. It was just so lovely to catch up with the girls again and get to go to such a lovely event hosted by a fantastic lady who knew her stuff! I had a wonderful evening and would love to do it all over again, oh we are! In August were going to see Lydia again who will be telling us all about Lancome's new mascara so I am very excited about that, but for now that's that event over and thank you so much Vanessa for inviting us all and to Lydia for putting on such a great event for us all, I feel like I know so much more about Lancome and have fell in love with the brand already, this could be bad for my bank but it's not cheap being a beauty blogger right? Lots of love to you girls xxxx

Pulling the wool over your eyes.

Mac - Hue & Make-Up Revolution* - The One

To tell you the truth I googled another word for dupe and a list of things came up and pulling the wool over someones eyes was my favorite aha! So I hope to pull the wool over your eyes, If I can, I wonder if any of you beauty bloggers out there can tell which is which on the lip swatch above? Please mind my whispers there all gone now, cringe! How can we not tell these till we crop and the zoom mode comes on pic monkey? Yeah I'm so bad at beauty blogging to not re-do the whole thing but I am a mum and a house wife pretty much with two jobs, ain't nobody got time for dat! Anyway back to the 'dupe' post. I have had Mac Hue for a while in my lipstick collection and always loved it, you can't beat a good nude lipstick can you? A glaze finish which leaves my lips looking glossy, sheer but is very buildable to a pigmented bold colour. This unlike many nudes doesn't make you look like the walking dead and compliments pale skin if anything, with its hint of pink it is such a pretty nude that I think everyone needs in there collection, they last around 3 hours though which isn't brilliant for a £15 lipstick but it is gorgeous and of-course the vanilla scent is always appealing to me, but I'm a sucker for scents. If you do like Mac's Hue though I have an un-canny resemblance for just ONE POUND! Make-up Revolution have a lipstick in the shade The One which I think is the exact same, if you can see already by the lip swatch picture? If you hadn't already guessed Mac is on the top lip and Make-up Revolution is on the lower lip, I actually found Make-up Revolutions lipstick far more pigmented, not at all drying and lasts just that little bit longer so you would be mad not to pick this up for a measly pound if your a fan of nudes and it also has a very similar scent to the Mac lipstick. I was very lucky to receive a little collection of Make-up revolutions lipsticks when they was new on the scene and was very excited about them and fell in love with them straight away, a lot of people think there just a copied version of MUA but I think they have far better quality products but that is purely just my personal opinion. I actually did a battle of lipsticks mentioning MUA against Make-up Revolution here. Even if you do own Mac's Hue I would highly recommend you picking up The One, I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and lasting power of a cheap but very cheerful lipstick.

What are your thoughts?  I would also love to hear your fave dupes below in the comments.

Whats On My Nails Wednesday #13

Essie - Fiji £7.99

I have wanted to get my hands on this nail polish for I don't know how long, it is finally in my grasp and been on my finger nails! I have tried many dupes but nothing comes close to this at all, Essie nail polishes, you just can't go wrong with them, they have every shade imaginable, amazing cute little duo's, shade names are awesome and they last! I wore this all week with no chips at all even through washing up and standard duties of a working mother, its pretty damn good. It is the palest pink you can get, very neutral that will go with any look/outfit and I think this would suit every skin tone, this makes my hands look a little tanned and compliments them lovely but I also think this would look gorgeous on tanned skin also. You can get Essie very affordable on Fragrance Direct but I could never find Fiji on there so I finally got my hands on it when Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on, well worth the price tag either way.

What is your favorite Essie shade?

Joe Browns Wishlist

Since my last Joe Browns OOTD I have been searching there website again and a few things have grabbed my attention and Joe Browns have contacted me again for a competition just by putting my wishlist up, so here are some items I am lusting over, me and the clan are going on holiday in September so I thought these picks would be perfect for our little get away. You can't go wrong with black and these wedges are beautiful! I love the little aztec sort of print on the actual wedges and wedges are so damn comfortable so perfect for strolls on the beach or around the pool and another thing escentual for the pool of-course is a swim suit and this polka dot one is adorable, very girly and sort of vintage looking, I would feel lovely in this with me loosing some weight before my hols also. One thing I love if you didn't already know is statement necklaces, this one is gorgeous and would look great with any outfit to glam it up or just to add abit of jazz to your whole outfit and would go beautiful with the dress I chose in my wish list how lovely is it? Very feminine with its tiny floral detailing and I love how the back crosses over too, then lastly no outfit is complete without a hand bag right? This would be perfect of a night time on holiday just to fit in your phone, purse and extra bits and bobs, I love the fringe detailing and the embossed detail in the middle this would also go with any outfit.

Do you like any of the items I have chosen in my wishlist?

Mummy Monday - Red OOTD

3/4 JEANS - NEXT
SHOES - CONVERSE
BIB - FUNKY GIRAFFE*

I obvs put the bib on too late, he's had a bit of a cold recently and been dribbling more recently for some strange reason so please mind a bit of drool here and there, how cute do converse look on kids? I want some now, I don't think I could pull of a red pair though or match them with any of my outfit choices, but Oscar can make anything work. The weather has been so gorgeous recently, yesterday afternoon we had a lovely bbq with Dan's family so a perfect excuse to take some snaps of him in another new pair of shoes. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and any mummy bloggers out there could you recommend me some of your favorite places to shop for your little ones clothes?
