HEARTS & HOME CANDLE REVIEW

Heart & Home Selection of sampler candles £1.99* each.

Hello lovelies, back to review week posts. If you know me you will know I adore candles, Yankee has always broke my bank balance but recently I have been trying from various different brands, I was very kindly given this set of four samples the other day and I couldn't wait to start burning them, as the weather is miserable right now I feel a lit candle lifts my mood immediately, the scent and the pretty flame flickering away just does that, even better surrounded in a warm bubble bath. I have a confession though, there are two I love and two I have not so much love for.

The two I love French Vanilla* and Fresh Linen*, I absolutely love the smell of fresh washing and always loved fresh linen in candle form, it is really strong scented which I like, I have no time for subtle smelling candles, what is the point right? Then French Vanilla is really sweet smelling of cakes, smells good enough to eat. Also do you find with some candles they smell gorgeous then as soon as you burn them you can't smell a thing? Well with these candles you can still smell the gorgeous scent! My beauty room smells like a bakery at the moment, that's all good and everything but now I'm craving vanilla cake.

The two I am not so keen on is Lily of the valley* and Jasmine daydream*, I have never been that keen on jasmine and lily of the valley smells to me like an old fashioned perfume, obviously that's personal preferences though, those two are just not up my street. But there is nothing better than kicking up your feet after a long day, reading a book or watching your favorite trashy TV programme and lighting some candles right? Even better if you like to help save the world and everything, or you are just environmentally friendly they are made from renewable and sustainable soy wax.

What do you burn your sampler candles in? I have this gorgeous candle holder from Yankee that my mum got me for my birthday last year and the really pretty tea cup and saucer I picked up from a local vintage shop for £2! I have one that stores my left over lipstick and glosses and one for my candles. You can pic up a mish mash of tea cup and saucers from charity shops, they haven't got to match adds to the vintage look right? I think it's a super cute way to burn your candles though but you could always just use an old plate or something. You can purchase these candles on the Hut.com very soon, if you're a candle lover like my self I would recommend these if you like a strong smelling candle that burns for a while and smells amazing whilst they burn!

Busy Bee Candles - Magik Beanz

Hello lovelies, today I have for you a non beauty post again, I thought I would mix things up a little and bring you more beauty posts next week. If you wasn't aware I am a massive fan of candles and wax burners anything to make the room smell lovely I'm on it, I even have a cupboard full of air fresheners, yeah it's that bad (not the smell just my addiction). I am usually a Yankee addict but I have been loving Magik Beanz recently from Busy bee candles and only tried out these which is basically a wax burner, now I have tried these I really want to try there candle range. I recently did an order as there was 25% off I think they always have great offers on and they kindly gave me a couple extra as I only ordered Bakewell Slice, Cola Cubes, Blackberry Fizz and Lemon Drizzle then got Turkish Delight*, Peppermint kisses* and Banana Bonkers* for free! I would describe them all to you but they smell exactly what they are on the tub. It will obviously help at first if you already own a oil burner if your wanting to try out these magic beanz, which I do...

But don't worry if you don't they sell them too, you then place the magic beanz on top and wait for them to melt, they instantly make the room smell amazing and I am currently burning Cola Cubes, oh my god they smell yummy my living room literally smells of a sweet shop filled with cola cubes its amazing but not great for the healthy eating lifestyle as now I am craving a packet aha. I would say they give out a lot more scent than an average candle which is why I prefer wax tarts/magik beanz, there ever so cheap too! The Magik beanz are only £1.75 for a tub and once you have burnt them and they cool down you can re-use them and they burn for several hours.

Favorite Christmas Scents.

Hello lovelies, how is your week going? Today I have for you my favorite Christmassy scents. I love the general Christmas scents such as frankincense, ginger, cherries, cinnamon etc. I love rich deep powerful scents. So here are a few of what I'm loving this year.

I am a big Yankee Candle fanatic, I love my candles and these are just lovely. I would like to try some more luxurious brands but for the price tag I think these are beautiful. I have a few large jars but mostly the smaller ones as I love a mixture of smells there are only literally two scents I don't like from Yankee. The two 104g jars I have to share with you lovelies today are,

Cherries On Snow & Red Apple Wreath

Cherries On Snow - The only way to explain this candle is Cherry Bakewell Tart!! I want to eat this right now as I'm sniffing away like a dog at a pee stop. It's amazing it smells good enough to eat it really does if you like cherry bakewell ofcourse. You can also smell the frostiness of the snow lingering in the background. I would love a large jar of this just for Christmas. I know there are some people out there that buy expensive candles and don't burn them... why?! Whats the point haha, I'm quite bad with mine they go quite quickly I am addicted to candles.

Red Apple Wreath - A true homecoming feel to it with the warm sweet apples, cinnamon, maple and those sorts of aromas. Very Christmassy scented in a jar. Once its lit I do feel all festive inside I have also spotted Yankee have an advent calendar! A candle obsessives dream.

A couple of Yankee Wax tarts also,

Christmas cupcake & Christmas memories.

I prefer my wax tarts to my jars to be honest as I feel they give of more scent around the room/home. There also fairly cheap at £1.25 a pop but there's always cheap finds on ebay and amazon.

Christmas cupcake - A vanilla butter frosting scent very rich and creamy this also smells good enough to eat. I know not a lot of people like the sweet scents but I'm a massive lover of sweet scents, I adore my Vanilla cupcake one and this smells similar with the richness of the butter cream icing.

Christmas memories - All your Christmas treasures mixed into a wax tart, the smells from your home cooking kitchen including spices and sweet smelling aromas. This makes your home smell Christmassy in preparation for the big day.

Then lastly, not the most exciting thing in the world but I love my home smelling welcoming, clean and fresh so always have an air freshener on the go. I couldn't actually find my plug in wrapper to show you so thought I would just show you the air freshener I have on the go at the minute.

Spiced Apple and Cinnamon - Glade

Glade have some gorgeous Wintery scents fresheners in the shops now, I want them all but being a candle obsessive is fairly normal, an air freshener obsessive though I think that's a little strange. This is a festive aroma filling the home full of gorgeous rich scents, my mum hates cinnamon scented things so I lay of it as much when shes visiting but I spray like mad once shes gone, not because she smells or anything haha because I can't wait to fill my home in the gorgeous notes of cinnamon and spices.

What are your favorite scents throughout Christmas?
