20 December 2016Hello lovelies, so today I'm going to tell you about my journey weaning with HiPP Organic, it has been an amazing twelve months with Lawson and the team and the amazing PR team, I haven't worked with a nicer PR team ever. They really looked after us both and we have had so much fun along side learning new things.

24 March 2016MUMMY MONDAY | OSCAR TURNED THREE!
21 September 2015
Hello lovelies, on Saturday the 19th my beautiful baby turned into a very big three year old! Where does the time go? I'm still in shock at how fast three years has sped by me. This is probably going to be a really deep soppy post so prepare yourself.
So 19th September 2012 I gave birth to Oscar Jay Kazoks weighing 9lb 10 ounces all natural just on gas and air within 3 and a half hours. About four months prior to finding out I was pregnant with my baby Oscar I was massively depressed and not wanting to be on this planet at all, I didn't feel like my life had purpose or I'd be missed if I was gone, in September that all changed I gave birth to the most beautiful boy I have ever seen and he gave me purpose, I truly believe that he is my guardian angel sent to me to keep me sane, grow into a better person, become stronger and show the world what I can do and what I can achieve mostly to be a great mum I aspire to be.
I was really lucky with Oscar he slept through from about 8 weeks old, always took to his food really well no trouble with teething or anything like that, he was an amazing baby and gave me no trouble at all I thought this parenting thing is a doddle! Until the little terror hit 2, it's true what they say guys terrible twos, i thought someone had took my angel Oscar and swapped him with satan, he demanded everything and if he didn't get it you'd all know about it! But despite the tantrums, tears, hair pulling and chaos of a house he made me laugh daily, he is the most loving little boy who loves cuddles and kisses, he can't go to bed at night without his green froggy or a bedtime story and is so intelligent.
I honestly don't know where his intelligence comes from, its not me or his dad aha! He's now stringing sentences along lovely, still sleeps through great despite the early wake up calls 'Come on mom get up, its morning!' He has also gained a little brother Lawson who he loves dearly and protects, he strokes his head, puts his dummy back in if it falls out and loves helping feed him or helping me get things. My heart oozes with so much love I have for my little boys and I honestly don't know where I'd be now without them. Dan has his faults like we all do but he is a great dad and tries his best for them, he has truly spoilt all of us this weekend gone and Oscar had the best birthday ever, we surprised him with Peppa Pig world Friday, I shall have a post about that soon he absolutely loved it and was well worth the 6 hour there and back journey! I know right. Up above is just some of the pictures from his birthday meal, he wanted to be spiderman so spiderman he was, his new obsession along with minions and dinosaurs.
He's been in a nursery since he was 2 so he could learn new things and interact with children his age but he starts proper school nursery in November and I'm so emotional about it, he really is growing into a little man and the days are just going by too fast, so I'm just going to enjoy every minute of them as you should do with your little ones.
He was truly spoilt with lots of presents, cards and love xxx
From the day I found out I was pregnant, I was very overwhelmed, scared and really didn't have a clue what I wanted to do, also what was going on through my mind was how could I possibly love another baby as much as I already do now? Would Oscar be my favourite? From hearing from other mums and friends who have more than one child this is nonsense and they say as soon as you give birth the love just comes all at once. After a lot of discussions with my partner and him reassuring me everything will be ok we decided to tell the family. I didn't think Oscar would understand at all when I told him Mummy was having a baby but I kept showing him my belly and trying to explain, he now points at my belly all the time and says baby, he kisses bump and cuddles it every night before he goes to bed and whilst we bathe together, he's the sweetest!
My suggestions to other mums who are expecting is to keep telling your child so they understand, show them books of babies then point to your tummy. Try telling your little one that he was once in there, get them excited too and explain to them about sharing toys, helping you etc. You could go and visit friends or family who have a new born and try explaining to your little one that you will also have one of those soon, do they have babies at the pre school your child attends to? I have been really lucky that my son does and heard he helps give them drinks, strokes their head and crawls around with them, is this making your heart melt as much as mine?
How about going shopping for the baby and asking your little one for his/her input, for example your looking at t-shirt's and say 'Will baby like this one, or this one?' the same with toys, blankets and things. Try not to stress too much, I really want my son out of nappies fully by the time baby comes mostly as he will be starting nursery soon but also to keep costs down but I am certainly not going to rush him into anything he is not ready for so nor should you. Oscar is doing so well in the day time with his potty and even takes it to the toilet and empties it! But once he has a pull up he just doesn't realise and won't tell me when he needs to go, even with me asking him a million times that day 'do you need to pee' aha. It all comes when they are ready and every child develops differently, so try not to worry about it.
Spend as much quality time with your little one whilst you have it, I am so worried Oscar is going to feel left out when the baby arrives and as you know it is very tiring when you only have a few weeks left in pregnancy all you want to do is relax, that is obviously no option you have with a two year old so do light exercise with them, baking, drawing, playing with their toys etc and just show them how much you love them. My mum has also been having fun 'sleepovers' with Oscar recently as she thinks this will be a good idea for help in the future if we need a break which I think is a fantastic idea, if you have close family or friends willing to help you, make sure you take up the offer, you can never have too much help and it's better to start early as it can be very overwhelming at short notice I imagine and Oscar never sleeps at anyone else house so this is great preparation.
If you would like any more posts similar to this with toddlers and babies let me know, it was nice to do something a little different on my blog and I want to do more parenting type posts on here and will be a lot of baby overload when baby is finally here! Again if you have any tips then please don't hesitate to pop them below, I look forward to them! x
MUMMY MONDAY - NAPPIES.
14 July 2014
Hello lovelies, a bit of a new one on Mummy Monday feature this week, I thought for all the other mummy's out there and daddy's of-course I would share my experience with nappies and which ones I found the best and nappies I would never repurchase again. Obviously everyone's experience is different and my little man drinks a hell of a lot and fills his nappy very easily but I think some brands should not have on the front super dry because it is a massive fail. The prices below are for nappies of a size 5/6 as that is what size Oscar is currently and the standard packet size.
My top three -
Aldi - Mamia Ultra dry £4.49 - By far the best ones we have had and the cheapest! They look really comfy on him and snug, they keep him dry all night and he is a very good sleeper from 7pm till 8am! They have even won awards for being the best nappy and for dryness. No leaks, soft, high and he loves the little animals on there aha.
Tesco - Loves baby ultra dry £5.97 - If were in Tesco's and nearly out of nappies we pick some up, Aldi are like our top nappies but these come in second best only slightly, again great at keeping him dry at night time, comfy and very soft great if your child has sensitive skin and they always have good offers such as two packets for £10 and they have a great amount of stretch in them for baby's on the move.
Asda - Little angels comfort dry £5.97 - Asda nappies usually have great offers too such as two for £10, we don't go to Asda a lot as there isn't one in out town and it's just easier for us to get ones locally but when we have been out and had these nappies they have been great! They leave no leaks, soft and there quite high up for when they do those nasty number two's all up there back, you know what I'm on about parents, yack! Brilliant value and great also for little ones on the move.
Nappies I haven't got on that well with -
Pampers - Simply dry £5.60 - I think people who are new to parenting believe Pampers are the best or the most expensive nappies are the best and I think they couldn't be more wrong. Not always the most expensive of things always work out to be the best. This is a price based from Asda I know Pamper's nappies range in price wherever you buy them from. What gets me is this particular nappy claims to have an extra dry layer and protective leak cuffs? Well Oscar always leaks in these and is really wet by morning once he has slept in them, I actually gave away pretty much a whole packet after trying them for a few days so we will never be repurchasing those again, but like I said before every one has different experiences and Oscar also had rashes from these nappies.
Morrisons - Little big comfy dry £5.89 - Sorry I completely forgot to put these in the little collage above but these nappies are like paper thin, they don't last more than a couple of hours without leaking through, again we gave these away after persevering but had no luck with them.
Boots - Super dry extra absorbent £4.99 - Not extra absorbent at all, soaked his sheets after the first night of using these and again don't last longer than two hours in the day. I had high hopes after the woman said she used these with her children and found them great, when your a new mum you will try anything! After searching high and low for the best nappies you want to try every shop and brand going but these didn't work for us at all unluckily. Everyone has there own favorite though and works with whats best for them.
Overall winner - ALDI MAMIA ULTRA DRY
