FRIDAY NIGHT FILM NIGHT | HACKSAW RIDGE

Hello lovelies, this weeks #FNFM is a film me and Dan recently watched in the cinema.

Hacksaw Ridge 2016 (Trailer) -

Hacksaw ridge is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Any films to do with wars I usually put my nose up too, aside from Pearl Harbour as it had the chick flick side to it but any other war type film Dan has made me watch (we take it in turns at the cinema) I have usually fell asleep through! This film was absolutely amazing, I was transfixed the whole way through it. Some moments were quite jumpy, me and Dan both shot out of our seats in moments and other moments I wanted to cry for how amazingly brave and strong Desmond Doss was, he really was an absolute hero!

Imagine going to war with no weapons what so ever? He was bullied through the camp for not wanting to kill after something happened in his childhood which made him turn to god and he made a promise to never hold a weapon, they called him a coward but he was far from a coward, an incredible brave man. I loved the fact they shown Desmond at the end of the film to see the real face of the true star behind the film although Andrew Garfield did an amazing job of portraying him through out the film.

When I saw Vince Vaughn come on the screen I thought to myself I've never seen Vince play a part in a serious film but of course Vince wasn't serious all the time he definitely bought the humour to the film with his one liners , I was laughing so much at his time on the screen and for the ladies and gentlemen there is a good looking naked man near the start of the film but he does have a dodgy porn star moustache!

Mel Gibson directed an amazing performance and I would highly recommend it to anyone especially people who wouldn't normally go near a war film, I honestly think anyone would love this film, the pure bravery in it, the acting was immense and such a good story, I love true stories that are made into films I feel like I can connect with it a lot more and get more exited about it.

There is a little romance in this film, humour and a lot of action! If you love action films you will love this regardless but I would honestly suggest you watch this film either way I am sure you will love it as much as I did, Dan liked it that much he watched it again a couple of days after with his dad!

I rate this film 5 out of 5 stars!

Please let me know if you watch this film or you have and your thoughts, tweet me or comment below. In the mean time check out my last film review Trolls
