FOTD. #1

Hello lovelies, my first ever FOTD I hate posting pictures of myself on here I am not photogenic at all, so apologies to start with for that another apology for the horrible bumps I have around my eyes, I had a reaction to the eyebrow wax I got the other day. They are clearing up a little now thanks to my lovely twitter friends with there great tips but here is the finished look anyhow.

The products I used for the look...

I didn't actually use a primer for this look as I was only going into town this day so did a quick make-up look and was going for a natural-ish look. I love a good smokey eye like the next one but didn't need to go all out to pop to the supermarket did I? I have been loving Mac's Prep and Prime primer though it really does work like a glue for your base and holds it all day and night. Not that you need it though with my favorite drug store foundation Rimmel's lasting finish 25 hour foundation, you have heard me rave about this so much so I won't continue to do that but this is great! Lasts hours and hours hence the name and is a medium to full coverage. I also didn't use concealer for this look woops, I must have been in a rush but I am loving Mally's concealer at the moment which I got of QVC a while back and nearly all out so need to invest in a new one but along with that I also pop on some of the Collection's famous concealer in the blogging world I just love it. Once I have done all that I sweep a little Rimmel Stay Matte powder over my T-zone bit as it gets a little oilier there and just holds my base together with its translucent wonder.

After base I go to eye's next everyone's different in there routine but I go on to eyes/eye brows. Firstly with my brows, people spend so much on eyebrow pencils/powders, I personally am loving MUA's pro-brow palette! It does the job and I love the finished look, it has the right shades in which I need for me and even has a brow gel in there also to hold your brows into place. Then for my eyes I adore the Maybelline Colour Tattoo eye shadow creams they look perfect alone but even better as a base for your powder eye shadow. There pigmented and so easy to apply, my favorite is On an On Bronze as mentioned here. After the colour tattoo I applied another favorite of mine mentioned in that post above also, Mac pigment in Museum Bronze. A gorgeous bronze so pigmented with gorgeous flecks of gold running through to give you that glow and shimmer to your lids, make those eyes pop. After the shadow is done I like to apply an eyeliner I recently went of liquid eyeliners and went back to pencils but I used a liquid eyeliner for this look. I used Rimmel's Glam eyes eyeliner in black, it has a very thin brush to apply over your lids to create the perfect winged look or just your average line to make your eyes stand out. Then I apply my mascara, I used two this day god only knows why but there both my current favorites at the moment. I didn't like Benefit's They're real to start with but now I love it! Along with my favorite drugstore mascara Maybelline's Colossal Volume Express, both great mascaras to create volume and lucious thick long lashes.

After my eyes I then go onto bronzing and blushing, the bronzer I used which I have been using every day recently is the Bourjois Bronzing powder that looks like chocolate and smells like it too. A lot of pale people don't seem to get on with this but i love it, It is in 52 aswell that's the darker one right? I just apply it finely so I don't have orange cheeks and forehead but I love it, It's great for contouring or just to bronze your face up and give it some colour, which I most definitely need right now, Casper called and wants his face back. Then for blusher I have turned into a massive cream blusher fan, a lot of people say it smudges there foundation, no no no, not if you use it in the right way. I like to put my cream blusher on using the Real Techniques buffing brush and just dab it on to my cheeks, simples. The cream blusher I am wearing here is So Susan, I can't seem to find the shade for it though it is an 8 hour cheek stain which is true I'd say. I picked this up at the Clothes Show in December and loving it very much.

Then to finish the look off you need a lipstick/lipgloss/lipbalm. I chose Sleek's Pout Paint in 'Minx', a gorgeous coral nude shade that is simply gorgeous in my opinion. I think a lipstick really finishes the look of and this is a favorite of mine at the moment, it can be worn for work, a trip to town, coffee with friends for if you fancy a few cocktails in your local bar after work! Super glossy and pigmented and lasts a good few hours.

The finished look - Natural-ish?

So that is my finished look and how I achieved it I'll also mention the brushes I used in the look, I didn't want to picture them as they needed a good clean, I am doing it straight after this post I promise!

Foundation - Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Powder - Real Techniques Powder Brush
Eye brows - Sorry I have no idea, some cheap one from boots.
Bronzer - Eco Tools Bronzing brush
Blusher - Real Techniques Buffing brush.
